Member of the Order of Dannebroge

 

The Flag of Denmark, known as the Danebrog, appears to be the oldest of the European flags still in use. Tradition states it was first used in 1219 by King Valdemar II.

The Knighthood Order of Danebroge is ascribed to 1219, the year of Valdimar II's

conquest over Estonia.       In 1693 "The Order of Elephant" was instituted.  This
